Bio

Over 30 years of business management experience; ranging from roles in global corporations leading 1000+ employees to those (in more recent years) helping hundreds of SME’s (including local start-ups) making every single £ count!

Whilst you may hear people say ‘it’s all the same in business’; it’s just not… and that’s why after my time in the corporate arena I transitioned to working (and investing) in the passionate world of the entrepreneur / micro-businesses. Some of these businesses aspire to become SMEs or even larger but there are also a significant number who want to stay small and become as efficient and effective as possible.

My experience with mentoring & coaching started even before my corporate career; in the sports and outdoor activities industries, and then after university came mentoring in a high-tech domain before transitioning to business management, and (for the last 15 years) to supporting at the board / business owner level.

I’ve always preferred to experience things first hand (where possible) before offering any form of coaching / mentoring in that space, and so I’ve performed many operational leadership roles alongside supporting others. That said, during this very hands-on journey of leadership development, I have enhanced my mentoring toolkit by achieving a number of accreditations and academic levels including an MBA (Henley Business School) and a ILM Level 7 (Masters equivalent) in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.

As an aside, I am also a Mentor on the UK Government’s Help to Grow programme, a Trustee on the Board of a local Counselling Charity, and an active Leader in both the UK Scouting Association and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. My values are simple and my aspirations align to many; to leave the world a little better than when we found it!
